Ms. Kira Auld
Kira is the Centre Pedagogista as well as the Belvedere Early Childhood Teacher at Rothwell Kids Early Learning Centre. She grew up in Katherine, Northern Territory and moved to Brisbane with her family in 2008 when she began studying to be a primary school teacher. Kira completed her Bachelor of Primary Education in 2016, and then her Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care in 2019.
Kira embarked on her career as a Kindergarten Teacher in 2016 when she grew a passion for supporting children and families to become school ready as they prepare for Prep and the next important stage in their development as life- long learners. With a strong focus on inquiry-based learning, Kira ensures authentic learning opportunities for children to explore a big idea, in depth over a period of time. Throughout the inquiry cycle Kira considers the diverse learning styles of individual
children to ensure each child has their own unique perspective and influence of the educational program.
Kira is committed to ensuring that the traditional owners of the land where we learn and play, the Gubbi Gubbi people’s perspectives are not only explored but embedded within the program. She aims for the children to develop an understanding of the rich history of Australia thus creating a sense of respect for and deeper understanding of our Indigenous culture. Kira works hand in hand with families to ensure each child’s development and care is fostered.
