WATERPARKS, swimming pools and relaxation retreats are hallmarks of a beach resort, so one might be surprised to learn they’re also features at one of logan’s newest childcare centres.
Dozens of families attended an open day for the multimillion-dollar springwood kids early learning centre earlier this month.
Operations manager Cassie Hobbs said they originally had 55 places to offer but had nearly reached capacity.
The facility on Springwood Rd includes a waterpark with spray; a frog-shaped mist archway, and a learn to swim pool run by an accredited instructor between 6.30 am-6.30 pm
One-on-one classes are available for parents of children aged one to four while kids five and up can join small group lessons for $10 on top of normal fees.
Ms Hobbs said indoor and outdoor chill-out zones were built to offer children an alternative to group activities.
“Not all children want to be run around doing things all the time so we have spaces for all children,” she said. “Our relation retreats include bean bags, blankets, cushions and reading nooks, It’s a home away from home for them.”
the boutique-style facility, the first of its kind in Australia, also has a “food exploration laboratory”, cafeteria and art studio.
Fellow operations manager Candice Geoghegan said the centre was inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, where learning was dictated by each child’s need and interests.
